RE: Roadmaster RR8R & M8S Chassis

Still no definitive answer. I have also pondered this question.

RE: What milage can 400hp cat get on 40' mh

We usually tow. Get between 6.5 and 7.5 depending on wind and road conditions. 2006 Monterey

RE: Barrel Chair replacement - Lazy Boy? or Euro Chair?

I prefer the recliner over a Euro chair. Search for RV furniture and you will come up with several companies that have small recliners and furniture. I got one from Bradd and Hall. They were great to deal with.

RE: Prevent a Freeze System - Who's Got One?

I removed the small antifreeze tank and connected a hose so that I could draw from a 5 gal pal. It takes a lot more than that to winterize if you have a washer. I blow my lines out, run the antifreeze through, and then blow the antifreeze out. If you have hydro-hot, you don't want to take a chance on not getting all the water out of the coils.

RE: Where they at?

I try to stop at Flying J for fuel whenever possible. I usually avoid the RV island due to the congestion and wait time. This summer I was able to pull into the Rv island every time without waiting. We travled from PA to Branson, Denver and St Paul for the FMCA convention on the way home. It was pretty evident that RV travel is way down this summer

RE: Rear slide open/close slow ...

On my Monterey the slides are hydraulic. Each slide does not have its own pump. Solenoid's control the movement of each slide from a single pump. Mine was made by HWH. They have excellent customer service. I would check with them.

RE: Carbon Monoxide Detector

You probably noticed that when you extend the slides a lot of outside air is drawn into the coach. Many have recommended that the door or window be opened to ease the pressure. It is very likely that exhaust fumes are drawn inside when you open your slides

RE: Happy 4th and where are you?

Chatfield State Park, Littleton, CO. Great site overlooking the lake. Daughter and family will be here for a cookout. We have two more weeks to wander back to PA.

RE: Pneumatic step cover

Contact Monaco. I had the same problem and a mechanic at Elkhart adjusted it.

RE: keyless entry problems

The receiver is located under the lift-off dash cover in front of the steering wheel. You will see the black box on top with an antenna wire dangling from it. I have the same coach. Try unplugging power for a minute. I had a problem with water getting into the keypad when I washed the coach and all functions would go crazy. Needed to remove power to reset the unit. Silicone around the key pad and the mounting plate solved my problem. I could never lock just the bay doors with the remove, but could unlock them. Locking the entry door with the remote also locks the bay doors.

RE: Pocono Campgrounds

Watch the suggested routes to Otter Lake. Snow Hill Rd has a one lane bridge with 10 ton limit. Marshall's Creek route is narrow with many turns. Suggest taking Coolbaugh Rd from Rt 402. It is longer but easier to travel. Don't know why they don't suggest it.

RE: Are these fuel costs going to restrict your travels..??

Nope. Still going to Colorado and points west this summer, plus other side trips. Fuel has not yet become the major cost of owning a motorhome.

RE: PA Non-Commercial Class B license

rmmpe - I found that many of the county test centers do not do CDL or Class B testing. You have to go to another county. I am sure that the State does not make this part of your vehicle registration because they have no way of knowing who the operator will be. They assume that a driver must know the law as to what vehicle they are licensed to operate.

RE: PA Non-Commercial Class B license

I got my PA noncommercial B license at the Wilkes Barre test center on Thursday. The officer said they have only done about 6 noncommercial tests a year. He also said that they cannot fail anyone for not correctly answering his questions about safety, air brakes etc as it was their job to instruct and inform. They did require the over the road driving skills test that lasted about 20 minutes.

RE: Safari Cheetah DP

I had a 2004 36 PDQ. It was trouble free, unlike my present coach which required numerous trips back to factory service.

RE: vacuum toilets

Had vacuflush on our boat. Every couple of years they require new seals and duckbill valves. Buy their pressure tester gauge. Take apart each connection, starting at the toilet and work your way back to the pump. It's the only sure way to locate the problem. Usually its a worn duckbill valve or something is stuck in it. You should have a manual with their locations. If it is the toilet seal, water will disappear from the bowl.

RE: PA Non-Commercial Class B license

I've had my "B" learners permit for close to a year now and was finally able to schedule a test in Wilkes Barre. There are closer CDL testing centers but none would schedule a Class B noncommercial test.
